INSTITUTE ORGANIZES A SEMINAR IN THE FIELD OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH

In accordance with Article 6 of the Rulebook on the Procedure of Education, Training and Qualification in the Field of Occupational Safety and Health (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska”, No. 52/22), the Public Institution Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska organizes professional training/a seminar for persons performing occupational safety tasks.

The professional training/seminar will be held on April 24, 2026, at the Pan-European University Apeiron, Vojvode Pere Krece 13, Banja Luka (first floor). The seminar will start at 09:30. The estimated duration of the seminar is approximately 4 hours and it will be integrated with a seminar for chemical advisors.

The program is intended for professionals engaged in occupational safety and health activities, with the aim of continuous improvement of their knowledge, skills, and professional competencies, as well as timely monitoring and application of legal regulations and modern professional approaches in this field.

Special emphasis is placed on topics of direct practical relevance, including safe handling of medical waste and chemicals, implementation of occupational safety and fire protection measures, as well as risk assessment in workplaces.

The program is expected to contribute to:

  • improvement of participants’ professional knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health,
  • strengthening capacities for identifying, assessing, and managing workplace risks, especially when working with hazardous chemicals,
  • enhancing the practical application of protective measures when working with hazardous substances and in specific working conditions,
  • timely monitoring and proper implementation of applicable laws and by-laws.

The professional training will be conducted in the form of a seminar, through expert lectures, presentations, analysis of practical examples, and discussions between participants and lecturers.

The seminar includes four topics, each lasting 60 minutes including discussion:

  1. Medical waste – occupational health protection, legal regulations, and further steps in handling

Lecturer: Vesna Vipotnik, MPharm, Assistant Minister for Pharmacy, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare

  1. Chemicals in the workplace – safe work and legal regulations

Lecturer: Džejna Milaković Ramadani, MPharm, Head of the Department for Chemicals, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare

  1. Hazardous chemicals and occupational safety and fire protection measures

Lecturer: Goran Šobot, BSc Mechanical Engineer, Head of the Training Department, Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska

  1. Risk assessment act for workplaces – working with chemicals

Lecturer: Ljubiša Milićević, BSc Mechanical Engineer – Occupational Safety, Expert Associate, Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska

The program will be implemented with active participation of lecturers and attendees. After each topic, time will be provided for questions, discussion of practical challenges, and exchange of experiences. At the end of each session, a discussion and brief evaluation of the implemented program will be organized in order to improve the quality of future training.

Upon completion of the program, participants will receive appropriate certificates of attendance, in accordance with applicable regulations and conditions defined by the organizer. Based on the approval of the Ministry of Labour and Veterans’ and Disability Protection of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, each seminar participant will receive 4 (four) hours of professional training.

 

Participation fee: BAM 90, or BAM 105.30 including VAT, and it includes: seminar materials, a certificate of additional training, and refreshments. Based on the Approval of the Ministry of Labor and Veterans’ and Disabled Persons’ Protection of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, each seminar participant receives 4 (four) hours of professional training. The seminar is integrated with the training program for chemicals advisors.

Payment can be made to the Institute’s bank account No. 5620990000088958 at NLB Bank, with the note: “seminar occupational safety participation fee payment,” and it must be made before registering for the seminar. An invoice will be issued upon receipt of payment.
